One foot drills (through cones) try to turn on one skate (bend the balancing knee...no stiff legs) backwards skating all crossovers track wide crossovers body width skulling (skating in a wiggly line but never lift your skates) swizzling and stroking with outside skate touch the ground every 15 seconds on the whistle skate real fast , full stop , touch the ground, skate the other way fast , full stop , touch the ground(like in the olympic hockey movie) do that drill again falling each time instead of touching between two lines...make the distance less or more jump over pool noodles (legs)and grocery(body) bags (obstacle course) Frazier "Fritz" Blaw a.k.a Masterblader ,refferee and trainer for TXRD _lonestar rollergirls_ (http://www.bggw.com/)

More drills (from PRD)
"Suicides" like the 'shuttle run' of elementary school fame, but on skates.. to turn around you must either do a backwards toe stop, a double knee stop or a single knee stop.. mix it up!
"Bed Roll"- practicing getting over a fallen person (teammate or not!) Teams of two, first person a ways ahead of second. First person takes the fall, stays stretched out as an obstacle. Second person skates up to her, must hit the deck, and goes left hand-left knee on one side of her, right hand right knee on the other side of her, rolls, and comes up skating. (easier to see than to write!)
